Incident: Possession Of Marijuana
Case Number: 1611060089
Corpus Christi Police Department Uniform Division Officers searching for a suspicious person Sunday evening uncovered a major stash of marijuana, weapons and cash at a residence on the city’s south side. At approximately 5:30 pm, Patrol Officers responded to the 5000 block of Carroll Lane to investigate reports of suspicious man knocking on doors, who was possibly involved in a prior burglary. Officers were directed to a particular residence that the caller stated the suspicious man had entered. Officers knocked on the door of the home searching for the suspicious man; a 23 year-old man answered the door and gave officers permission to enter and look for the suspicious man.
Once inside the residence, officers immediately observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside, as well as a large bag of marijuana on the kitchen table. Officers searched the residence for the suspicious subject, who was not found, but did observe other large bags of marijuana in open view throughout the home.
Officers then secured the crime scene and requested assistance from the Narcotics Vice Investigations Division. Narcotics Investigators responded to the scene, obtained a search warrant, and conducted a thorough search of the premises. As a result of the search, Officers found and seized approximately 40 to 45 pounds of hydroponic marijuana, four handguns, a shotgun, and approximately $438,000 in cash from throughout the home.
Officers also seized a Nissan Maxima and GMC Yukon believed to be used in the distribution of the marijuana. Estimated street value of the marijuana is between $750,000 and one million dollars.
Officers arrested Jared Langley (DOB: 9-2-1993) and Michael Laurel (DOB: 12-7-1992) and charged them with third degree felony possession of marijuana.
